"Bernard Peiffer was my teacher when I was a kid in the late 60's-early 70's. Oddly enough, I never heard him play jazz. He was my Harpsichord teacher and he taught me classical only! I knew he was a jazz musician and that he had some sort of fame in France but I had no idea just how talented he was. It wasn't until last year that I began seeing his Albums being re-released on CD. I picked this one up first and I was absolutely blown away. Naturally, I'm biased because I knew him. But, even with that aside, I highly recommend this CD if you want to hear a real master of the piano. Amazing style and technique. ( "Technique!" is what he used to always shout at me when I messed up) Lightning fast runs, syncopated rhythms and probably the coolest version of Jingle Bells you will ever hear. Don't miss discovering this little known powerhouse."
