Synopsis

Album Description
Considered to be one of the leading death metal bands to emerge from Poland in the 1990s, Behemoth has endured quite a few lineup shifts during their career (especially in the bass department), with founding singer/guitarist Nergal being the only constant member. Behemoth was formed during 1991 (originally as a trio), and began issuing several demos shortly thereafter. Two years later, the group released this their first full-length recording, which received favorable reviews by the metal underground press. Metalmind. 2005.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"nothing compares to this album. a true epic. i bought the historica box set which came with sventevith, grom, the forest dream, and pandemonic incantations. all are great, but sventevith is the best. if you have "demigod" or "zos" and want to get more behemoth, i am warning you, it is definately different. WAY more black metal as opposed to the death metal demigod. on the contrary, if you like satanica or than you will definately LOVE this. more explosive. production is alittle lacking (to be expected) but the music is so good, it doesn't even matter. the production is an important element in the over all emotion in the listen. if is was any better, the cd would be different. it is hard to find in stores, so if you want it order it here. well worth to money and the wait. also, check out the limited edition box set. i own it and love it. check out my review for that as well.

just for the record, i'm not one of those "true black metal" a** h*les who won't lister to anything but underground black metal. i like cradle and dimmu."
