"This is a real nice CD featuring the Bay City Jazz Band, a mid-50s San Francisco traditional band featuring hard-blowing ensemble playing. "Potato head blues" (of Louis Armstrong fame), "Doctor jazz," and "Snake rag" all get excellent treatments. A few of the tunes don't work too well, but for the most part this is a most enjoyable CD. If you like jazz of the 20s played in the old ensemble style, you'll really like this one."
