Synopsis

Album Description
The genre-blending music that Battery Life creates on "Shotgun Loudmouth" rockets effortlessly between roots, punk, country, pop, rock and roll. Battery Life?s music (written by Almanza and Lawrence) is aggressively melodic with heartfelt lyrics that are both uplifting and inspiring?think in terms of Social Distortion without the cynicism, "Hang Time"- period Soul Asylum and the first two Rank & File records. The comparisons are only valid in the broadest terms. These musical touchstones are quickly forgotten when "Shotgun Loudmouth" invades your eardrums. Anchoring all this is a blistering live show that ends in everything from bloody faces to broken instruments.

CD Reviews

Best CD out this year

"What more can I say? Really this is the hottest group out this year. If you dont have this disc, GET IT."
Not your teenage daughter's spineless sensitive-guy stuff.

"BATTERY LIFE's sound is a raucous brew that draws on a half-century of country, rockabilly, 60's garage rock, and punk influences. There's even a track that sounds like the Monkee's gone dark and twisted ("Delusional") and some great surf guitar. These guys write songs with wry, clever lyrics and plenty of hooks (especially notable are the title track, "Stay Cool in the Dark in the Summer," and "Double Wide"). If you're looking for something to play loud and move to, this is it -- catchy punk barn-dance music."
