An amazing epic adventure

"I don't know where to start. Well, don't listen to this before part 1 ofcourse. This is as amazing as it gets, I mean it, it is pure EPIC. It gives me goosebumps non-stop. The atmosphere of this cd is something else. The only word to describe this cd is "WOW"! It opens up a portal to a world of beautiful vast landscapes, mystical theories and viking battles. Nordland part 1 and 2 are a really amazing cd set to own. The fidelity of the overall sound quality is so out of this world, yet it makes the listener feel so at home.

IF YOU ARE INTO EPIC TALES, DRAGONS, VAST MOUNTAIN LANDSCAPES, THEN BUY THIS AND PART 1, IT WILL BE YOUR FAVOURITE CD'S FOR A VERY LONG TIME, I PROMISE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE WITH A TASTE FOR REAL MUSIC."
Quorthon goes out with a solid album.

"In my opinion, Bathory are one of the most influential and underrated bands in the history of metal. Unfortunately, this will probably be the last Bathory album to be released. As most fans have found out by now, Quorthon, literally the heart and soul of Bathory, died this past year. Bathory is basically a one man show, with Quorthon doing all of the vocals and instruments. On June 6 of 2004, we lost a brilliant musician, and more importantly, a great man. One of the pioneers of black and viking metal, he will be missed. R.I.P. Ace Börje Forsberg.

Onto the album. All I can say is, if you liked the first Nordland album, you'll probably enjoy this one as well. Believe it or not, "Nordland I" was actually my first venture into the viking metal genre. But after hearing my first Bathory song, I knew this would be a genre that I would love (and it has. Since then, I've become a fan of many other viking-related bands, such as Vintersorg).

A very epic album, "Nordland II" features some beautiful clean vocals, great leads (actually, all of the instruments are played to perfection), and everything else you would love from a Bathory album. The band has changed it's sound through the years (many believe that most of the Bathory albums from the 90's are crap), but judging from the two Nordland albums, it seems that Quorthon was back to making solid albums. We can only imiagine what kind of exceptional albums he would have released had he not passed away."
Brilliant! One of Bathory's Finest

"As its title implies, this ablum is the follow-up to the Nordland I album by Viking-Metal entrepreneur Bathory.

The ablum begins with an instrumental track that sets the mood for the Viking theme. The songs on this release are some of the finest I have ever heard from Bathory, there is not a sinle one that I do not enjoy. They are played in a thrash-influenced style similar to the songs on Nordland I. Keyboards and choirs are used often on the album, but not so much that they overshadow the guitar riffs (which is good). The album concludes with Bathory's trademark outro found on many of their other releases.

If you are a fan of Viking-themed heavy metal, I would highly recommend this album. "Death and Resurrection of a Northern Son" is, in my opinion, one of the greatest Viking-Metal tracks of all time. If you have enjoyed any of Bathory's previous albums, do youself a favor and purchase this.

Although this is a sequel to Nordland I, this album is still a terrific experience on its own.

Everything great about the previous Bathory albums (especially Nordland I) can be found on this release."
