CD Reviews

Bargain Music is key
Morgan | VT, USA | 02/15/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Man, these guys rock. This album has all the elements: hip hop, rock, reggae, rap, ska... These elements made me fall in love with Sublime, then Skunk Records; and now Bargain Music and 77 Records. The lyrics are so excellent, especially when we're stuck in the age of Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys, it's nice to hear some amazing song writing. I hear so much of Bradley in this album and it takes me back to 40 oz and Robbin the Hood. It makes me happy to listen to this album and I know that the boys from Bargain Music will rock the souls of thousands like only a band from Long Beach can."
A New Southern Cali Classic
Morgan | 02/10/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album tripped me out. I was not prepared. I got it cause Mike Watt produced it and was not expecting the Dub, Reggae, Hip-hop, Jazz, Punk, Pop, even country, experiment this turned out to be. Everything is sharp, creative and fresh. Lyrics, the musicians, the singing, rapping and production is all impeccable. I seriously could go on forever, but I wont. Just go get this album. I can't wait for the next."
Another Great Long Beach Band
Greg R. Lowther | Long Beach, California United States | 02/05/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Since the Sublime broke the ice a lot of great music has been coming out the the LBC. Trey of Long Beach Shortbus started out in the Falling Idols (with Dave of Vandals and Randy of Pennywise, see "When Punker Were Punk" comp.) and appears on this album with some great guitar rifts which really complement Josh's vocals. Bargain's Josh is also an accomplished film maker who did the Sublime movie "Stories Tales Lies and Exagerations" see the DVD section. Anyway, cool band with a fresh style."
