BALBOA Music reflects life and life reflects music in an ongoing corridor of genesis, change, and rebirth. Formed in 2000 and congealed fully in 2001, BALBOA is in many ways the alchemist of the hardcore scene. They continually design to incorporate past and present musical influences with critical social issues in order to form cohesive works of art that are beautiful in composition, but undeniable in their social relevance. For BALBOA, the mission is always the music and the message. BALBOA is art and direct action. Their first, self-titled album marked the launching point of the band's trek to infinity, proving that as a unit, BALBOA is capable of practicing expression without cliché. Their 2004 EP, Manifeste Cannibale, was a progression towards a leaner, rawer sound. With this split release, BALBOA continues the progression with four brand new songs for your listening enjoyment. NITRO MEGA PRAYER Formed in 1998, Japan s NITRO MEGA PRAYER has spent time on the road in Japan with KAOSPILOT, FUNERAL DINER, MINUS THE BEAR, 31 KNOTS, ENVY, and ENDZWECK. Most recently, they completed a 10 day east coast US tour with BALBOA in support of this split. Though crossing genre boundaries, NITRO MEGA PRAYER S music is passionately based on emotion. While there is a sense of dismalness within the songs, the flurry of chaos creates a whirlwind of sensations. Their lyrics tackle themes of love, sadness and anger. In addition to emotion, their songs represent experiences in daily life.
