CD Reviews

Baguette Quartette -- A strong buy
David E. White | Berkeley, CA United States | 06/03/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Tired of Rap and Techno and amped, synthesized, industrialized "music" with a heart of a computer? Tired of movie sound tracks and nameless armies of techicians turning their dials and controling what you hear?Baguette Quartette is like fresh air -- like a little country meadow compared to the concrete towers of rush hour gridlock. This is homemade music with human, not machine-made, precision. Fine musicians playing with a warm cooperation, mutual respect and with an unmistakable sweetness. This is simple music that just plain makes you feel good. And if you feel like dancing around a little as you listen -- who cares?Maybe this ain't the CD to take with you to the gym and get all sweaty to, but if you just want to sit down and listen to a small band of human beings playing with a committed innocence and honesty, than THIS is the CD for you.(Of course, if you practice some bourgeoisie discrimination against accordian playing then this may not be the CD for you, either. But get over it!)"
Perfect music to cook by

"Charming, sweet music, full of balanced flavors, nostalgia without a hint of bitterness or acidity, and no off-tastes. Goes well with either red or white wine. Listening to this music while you cook will make all your food taste delicious."
Take the long way home
Philip E. Nast | Manlius, NY | 10/01/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Listen to Chez Moi on the way home from work. Let the other saps blow their horns and shake their fists. By the time you get home you'll be ready for life as it was meant to be lived. Better yet, listen to all three of the Baguette Quartette's CDs and take the long way home."
