Butch Cassidy & Damizza - Back B4 You're Lonely
Constant | Vancouver, BC Canada | 04/16/2007
(3 out of 5 stars)

"Butch Cassidy & Damizza deliver a debut duet album "Back B4 Your're Lonely" (2007). R & B singer Butch Cassidy (A.K.A. Danny Means) has made numerous guest appearances dating back to 1994 while producer Damizza (A.K.A. Damian Young) has produced for artists like Ice Cube, Bone Thugs N Harmony & Snoop Dogg. Butch Cassidy is the first artist signed to Damizza's Babyree entertainment Label. Butch Cassidy is a cousin of R & B hook king Nate Dogg, and has delivered some memorable track's over the years. This short twelve track album opens up with "Get Your Party On" an upbeat cut which has Damizza & Butch Cassidy taking their audience to the club, looking for good times. Next up is the lead single "Cruizin'" is a distinct feel good track, about cruising in the whip with a special lady, this track vibes well. Butch Cassidy and Damizza rep themselves with pride on "In 2's" and come through styling on "Talk 2 Me" talking to the ladies. Jayo Felony, Down & Titus drop in for "Gangsta Lean". Damizza leads the way on the title track "Back B4 You're", while Butch Cassidy drops the hook. The laidback "Top Billing" follows. Butch Cassidy recalls all the past women who have been in his life on "Once Lovers" which features some background vocals from Sno Bunny. Vanessa Marquez, Roccetti and Aftermath's Bishop Lamont team up with Butch Cassidy on "View From The Top" which is laced with some impressive ominous sounding production. Everybody come's across strong on this cut, about trying to make it, no matter what obstacles come. The duo get their pimp game on "Str8 Playa" then link up with Noni Spitz, Juan Carlos Tajes & Piet Capello for the thugged out "Click, Clack!". Butch Cassidy & Damizza close off the album on a good note with the smooth "Tragic End". The highlight of this album for me is Butch Cassidy's singing, Damizza is not most entertaining of mc's, and is probably best behind the scenes. Favourite track's "Cruizin'" & "A View From The Top". Overall "Back B4 You're Lonely" is a solid release."
