'Back in Blue: Maximum A Cappella,' the eighth album from Vocal Point, BYU s award-winning nine-man a cappella group, is a collection of music that is sure to be a hit with the entire family. From Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" to Earth, Wind & Fire's "September" to 'Hairspray's' "Nicest Kids in Town" to a new a cappella arrangement of "Lead, Kindly Light," this album has something for everyone.

As BYU's premiere a cappella group, Vocal Point takes the songs you hear on the radio, retools them, and delivers a new rendition with voices alone complete with all the complex percussion and instrumentation found in the original. Founded in the tradition of ivy league glee clubs, Vocal Point has developed a varied repertoire of rock, pop, country, jazz, R&B, and spiritual music, all produced in Vocal Point's own unique style.

'Back in Blue' includes recordings of the most popular Vocal Point songs from the last three years and is being released in conjunction with the group s 20th anniversary. Started in 1991, by then BYU students Bob Ahlander and Dave Boyce, Vocal Point has since had over 100 members, including the nine currently in the group.

Vocal Point's newest album hits bookstores and iTunes on March 8, 2011 and is being released by Tantara Records, BYU's record label. Tantara Records has produced all but the first Vocal Point album. "Unlike a lot of albums that are released each year, every song on 'Back in Blue' is a hit," says Ben Fales, General Manager of Tantara Records. "There's not a song you'll want to skip. Another great thing about this album is that it's good, clean music the whole family can listen to together."

Other songs include "Grace Kelly," "Lead, Kindly Light," "Vitas," "Remember When it Rained," and more. One medley that combines segments of popular sports songs, titled "Game Day," has been performed by Vocal Point during half times at both a BYU football game at LaVell Edwards Stadium and a BYU men's basketball game at the BYU Marriott Center earlier this year.

As one of the most-requested performing groups at BYU, Vocal Point regularly performs to sold-out crowds on and off campus. The group performs for over 50,000 people each year, regularly selling out shows weeks in advance.
