"Avalanche" proudly asserts itself squarely in the void between the alternative and pop music of the late 90's and occasionally even defies proximity to an easily recognizable genre. Lyrically it is incredibly smart, but not cerebral, and never cliche as it explores familiar themes of slipping youth, thwarted ambition, many-faceted love and hope despite disillusionment in truly new ways. On this their 4th independent release, BE's members manifest a seemless integration of their hard rock passions, moving emotional sensibility, playfulness, maturing musical craftmanship and poetic words. "Avalanche" is ultimately a heartfelt surrender to the experience of becoming an adult of integrity in a society that is largely indifferent to such endeavors.
