(5 out of 5 stars)

"Over the past forty years B.J. Thomas has been one of the greatest male singers around who can sing anything and better than anyone else and this stellar collection of richly varied performances is a great example...starting with a soulful country-styled ballad "What I See In Her Is You", B.J. infuses this song with so much passion and soul that this song becomes an instant classic that should have been a huge crossover hit! "A Southern Girl On A Summer Night" sounds like another #1 country-pop crossover hit and maybe it was and if not should have been. A solid-soul classic revisited, "You Make Me Feel Brand New" has never sounded better and B.J.'s gorgeous vocal make this the definitive "male vocal" now one will wonder why the music industry ignored this awesome masterwork and what was going on with the Radio Programmers Of America when this great work was released that allowed them to let something this great and so universal in its appeal slip through the cracks...this gifted singer has made so many great collections of richly varied masterful performances yet they all go underexposed with poor promotion and one wonders why? "Now That Love Is On Our Side Again" is another soul-stirring romantic ballad with a stellar vocal performance while the hard-rocking B.J. Thomas original "Back Against The Wall" becomes a wildly riveting athem that is a red-hot cooker and another song in this tremendous set that has the sound of #1 hit written all over it!!! An awesome array of composers contributed to this richly inspired musical tapestry and The Jazz Crusaders "I'm So Glad I'm Standing Here Today" featuring Joe Sample on piano beautifully frame a glorious B.J. Thomas vocal...haunting, magical, mesmerizing, brilliant, and moving describe the remainer of this winning collection of great songs and masterful performances that is a must have for anyone who appreciates a magnificent singer in peak form with inspired support from a great group of musicians and background vocalists. Bravo! & thank you B.J. Thomas and keep those classics coming!"
