CD ReviewsYEEEAAAAH!!! The Grinder | New Zealand | 10/03/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "If you're into Melodic Rock/Metal and looking for something outstanding, "Back To The Kingdom" is the CD for you! Being around since 1989 and having released a number of smash albums, AXXIS still remain one of the most underrated bands and are not very well known outside Germany. At the same time the sound of the band is something very unique and impossible to discribe. It's a mix of classic Hard Rock, Helloween-ish Power Metal, symphonic moves and amazing vocals of Bernhard Weiss. The closest thing you can compare it to (although I'd really prefer not to) would be EDGUY's "Vain Glory Opera", but AXXIS is a bit faster and not as dark.Originally "Back to the Kingdom" was meant to be a return to the sound of AXXIS's first album ("Kingdom of the Night"), but in my opinion, this album is the masterpiece they were destinied to create. For those who never heard of AXXIS and wants to check out the band, this is the CD to buy. Some fans might disagree with me, but I'll never grow tired of prasing this album.Awesome production, IRRESISTABLE melodies, amazing musicianship.A MUST for Melodic Metal people."
