Best "accident" ever!

"I buy a lot of CDs used. So I recently picked up a Kirk Whalum album, stuffed it in the player, and thought to myself... "interesting. That's SO atypical." But I loved every note of it. And when I ejected the CD I saw to my surprise that this was by one Avery Sharpe, hitherto an unknown entity in my repertory but now a favorite.

This album sure outjazzes, outgrooves, outsmoothes a lot of the current smooth jazz, except for that it's some sort of ethnic eclectic mix between.... well, I don't even know. Anything from jazz to soul to North African to - simply wonderful.
