Avant Strangel has appeared out of nowhere to crash the music scene like an uninvited guest... hard! Defying preconceived notions with a blend of sound with passionate displays of guitar technique and a song-writing caliber compared to the likes of Seal, Santana, R.A.T.M, Funkadelic, Prince and Vai. Those who'd like an angrier Kravitz, or demented India Arie with some Bad Brains, Linkin Park, Kings X and Fishbone stylings sprinkled in will be in for a pleasant surprise. Avant is also working on developing a rap-rock meets japanime project reminiscent of RUN D.M.C. meets the Matrix and is looking for artists looking to expand the musical landscape. While positioning himself for better offers from labels Avant is also in the process of finalizing terms as a hired gun opening for Ben Harper, Tracy Chapman and Dar Williams, on a tour that will take him to Europe, Australia and Japan. "They don't rock out as hard as I'd like," Avant says, "but I'm open to new things.
