A former bassist in Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins, front woman to a side project called Hand Of Doom - the amazing Black Sabbath tribute band - and now a solo singer; The Canadian woman definitely has exceptional talent. Real A Lie is the second single to be released from her first class, self-titled debut album "Auf der Maur". This song features as intro a steady melancholic riff hold attention but the guitar work and drumming is standard stuff throughout the song. Her voice seize the listen : she is such an intriguing vocalist.Melissa Auf der Maur's transition from another band's bass player to solo singer/songwriter seemed to be remarkably succed. A strong praise can be lavished on a very talented and arousing musician."
