"This is an album of acoustic-guitar-driven instrumentals. It is rather "easy-listening"--I'd say it works much better as background music than as something to focus your attention on--but if that's what you're looking for, then the songs are genuinely pretty and the sound and playing are first-rate. But if you're new to Artie Traum, I'd recommend starting with his recent "Meetings with Remarkable Friends" album, which contains collaborations with other musicians that have remarkable emotion and energy to them--just beautiful work that really showcases Artie's terrific playing, and is one of the best guitar-instrumental albums I've ever heard."
