Turner's singing style has changed significantly, heavily influenced by QOTSA, and I can hear The Doors, PJ Harvey and Morrissey influences all over this record.
It's a a sombre, darker album. Lyrically still impressive, but difficult to follow. It will be interesting to see where they go next, but it seems the Arctic Monkeys are growing up. Early fans may well be alienated, but they may attract new ones. " |
