"i heard of giovanni mirabassi from ''arte'' on a program about jazz in paris..and wow was i amazed by his beautiful playing and beautiful melodies and colors that flew from his touch ...this guy is a great jazz pianist and specially if you like brad mehldau you'll certainly enjoy the beautiful scenery this italian guy living in france well let you see...it's the jazz of your dreams just listen to ''place de la mairie''...
this is a pre desert island album i'm even putting it before brad mehldau's art of the trio volume 3....
this is a masterpiece go on and buy it you won't regret this heavenly trip you'll embarque on....."

"i've always admired european jazz , specially french jazz for it's emphasize on melody as a base for improvisation....this italian pianist living in france is the best demonstration of this intellectuel non main stream jazz. each track is a jewel ;the playing is emotional ;sharp and very intriging.i adore each track on the album but ''place de la mairie''
is really breathtaking....i would recommend this album to any serious jazz fan who likes a more '' philosophical jazz'' like brad mehldau ; bill evans...etc...thanx giovanni for this beauty you've given us.I think of the ''new wave '' movies when i hear your playing ;it's like contemplating a wonderful scenery of meadows and plains in the country side on a beautiful morning in autumn where everything is quiet ."
