Apollo 3 for the win. Are we PoMo yet?
G. Murdoch | New Jersey | 01/05/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"What we've got here is early millennium alternative rock - pied with a hint of rap metal - clothed in cyberpunk attire. Really, what's not to love about that? Now... I know what you're thinking. It's been done before. Yeah, maybe, but not by kids! Yes, they're kids. So, is it actually good? Trust me, you won't be disappointed. This "fist in the air" album is perfect throw-back to the angsty early 00's and Apollo 3 is truly unique among German rock bands - since you can actually understand what they are saying if you 'sprechen Deutsch.'

Is it perfect? Well, their dynamic will need some improvement in the future. The adults behind the music want to put the spotlight on all three boys at separate moments, which I think makes the songs sound a little dislodged in this album, but it doesn't deduct from its overall quality much. Once they get a better feel for each other, and where they want to go with their music, they can shake off their Linkin Park phase and move in their own direction... but, for now, I'm certainly not complaining; Superhelden is still epic even with its familiar sound.

It's nice to see some young artists out there livin' it up in adult dominated turf - in agreement with the above review. I just hope they resist commercialization. They like what they are doing, I like what they're doing, and I recommend the album... especially if you like alternative German rock, PoMo culture, boys, suggestives, blurry gender lines, the stuff born from true Grunge... ya' know. They have great potential. I'm lookin' forward to their future works - peace!"
Not your average child band

"A boy band from '06. The band members are really really young, we're talking born in 1997 and '96. Definitely a great band, especially for those who are very young.

Now that we have the basics down, let's do the reviewing. I've listened to many younger bands, just because I'm looking for talent beyond the regular American rock bands. These guys are a rock group, probably heavier than average rock, but not, definitely not heavy metal.

The quality is exquisite, it's amazing, it's outstanding to say the least. There aren't any mistakes in their music. It is completely refined, so the quality is there. I really do enjoy listening to real music! YES! You appreciate it after listening to crap all the time. And, this is real music!!! When it comes to quality.

But, personally, I do enjoy the fact that they keep the beat. It does get soft at sometimes, but the heavier parts keep the song going. Overall, without a doubt, a wonderful band...."
