CD Reviews

Simply Amazing

"Before writing this review I kept trying to think of other bands to compare DAR to so you might be able to get an idea of what they sound like, but after serious thought I couldn't come up with any comparison. These guys aren't like anything else I've heard. They're an amazing blend of brutal death metal/black metal and hauntingly beautiful keyboards and yes, even violins. The music shifts so seamlessly from peaceful piano solos into extreme thrashing guitars and guttural vocals, it simply blows you away. This is without a doubt one of my favorite cds.

Amazing, seriously

"So this summer a few friends and i were discussing maybe going to europe to go to a metal fest or two, and i noticed on every fest i saw there was this band called "Die Apokalyptischen Reiter". So i go "okay ill check this band out" and after hunting down their website i heard a soundclip from Unter der Asche and it blew me away. I immediately went out and got this cd, and it is just phenominal. I will agree that it has hints of older Dark tranquility, but it tends to be more black metal influenced, although its impossible to put this band into one category of metal because they manage to switch around styles ALL the time. This cd is definately worth it, and from various other songs i have been able to find on the internet, it is definately worth trying to get an imported copy of their other cds if you can find them, this band needs much more exposure in the states, seriously."
Fantastic

"I got to listen to this cd by chance when I was going through some heavy stuff in the cd shop. I only listened for about 2 mins and bought the cd. If you like 80's thrash and the likes of Dark Tranquillity you should definitely buy this album. Other recommendations would be: anything by Dark Tranquillity, Enter my silence, In Flames (first 3 albums), Withering Surface."
