CD Reviews

Anointed strikes Gold!!!
Tamecka Stewart | ft Lauderdale | 06/21/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"For me the album is off tha' Chain!!! I'm not saying this because of my unashamed bias of liking every record ANOINTED puts out. It's just a good praise and worship record. It seems that Da'dra and Steve pulled out all the stops for the one. They wrote 10 of the 11 tracks and executive produced this record. What is really remarkable to me is the growth in their lyrics and sound on "Now is the time". I will be the first to admit that when Mary left I thought anointed would be "done for". Then when Ne'cee left, it seemed like the brother and sister lacked something on the "IF WE PRAY "album. "Now is the Time" shows how they have grown onto their own unique sound. They did not try to recapture the sound that was lost when Mary and Ne'cee left. I love all the tracks, but man, the up tempo stuff is soooo amazing "Mighty long way" is awesome. I'm most impressed with the soulful ballads-- there is no song like "the great I am". This song is one of those great inspirational and praise and worship songs. Did I mention that Steve has the most melodious and just angelic sound on the track "Now that I'm Free"? Yeah I'll admit it's a bit too short, but you can always play it again. Anointed has made a Fantastic record, for me this is my must have gospel CD of the year. I'll recommend it to any one; anointed fan or not."
Enjoyable

"Anointed consistently turns out good to great albums, no matter who is or is not a part of the group at the time. Their songs are always well-written, well-produced, well-arranged, and well-performed.

'Now Is The Time' is one of their good ones. As a prior reviewer mentioned it is balanced with a wide mix of genres that can minister to virtually everyone, and it flows very well. It may not have that certain spark that made their debut album and self-titled 1999 album 5-star projects in my book, but every track here is a keeper and will hold up well over time.

This is a job well done and recommended."
