"I was a big fan of Ride from the start and thought that the first 3 EPs were incredible (Drive Blind, All I van see and all those other tunes) and followed them during the Nowhere Tour. I also liked Going Blank Again (OX4 - amazing) but didn't like their stuff after that because it sounded like they were putting out music to fulfil contractual demands. I bought the Hurricane #1 albums because I thought if any of the band produced great music it would be Andy Bell but was disappointed with their stuff (although there area couple of really good songs amonst the dross). I again bought this (Animlahouse)album because I was intrigued to find out if Andy Bell hadn't been the driving force of Ride's music then maybe Mark Gardener and Loz had been. I have to say that at first listening I thought that Animalhouse were fairly average but then after listening to the album a couple of times I started to really get into it. Since then I have listened to it a lot of times and think that it is one of the most brilliant albums I have heard in a long time. Sure there are weak tracks but the strong ones are superb. I mean really, really good. I won't say which because if you are reading this and liked Ride and I would hope that you would buy this album unconditionally on my recommendation (I have such good taste in music :-))BTW, If you really followed Ride then you would know what "Baby War Pig" means!"

"Got this last week... and its growing with every listen.
I'm a big RIDE fan so obviously wanted to see how Mark Gardener's songwriting is these days and Loz's drumming. Its a solid album, the singles are classic songs with a huge supergrass influence (ex-supergrass producer on guitar) which is a plus. Great chord changes... chords put together that i thought was impossible!!Loz (ex RIDE drummer) is a little wasted at times though as the songs are more 'radio friendly'unlike the epic early RIDE days... great drumming on 'animal' though! The classic Gardener harmonies are breath taking at times (space trash 3rd chorus) which was one of the great RIDE highlights, showing the influence of THE BYRDS ( bonus point!)... buy it whether you are a RIDEfanatic or enjoy great what music is really about...
Great melodies, harmonies, catchy choruses and overal carries well from track 1 to 12"
