Synopsis

Product Description
This kaleidoscopic single from the band's forthcoming album "Strawberry Jam" showcases the next step in the evolution of Animal Collective's sonic freeform electronic-horror-gospel-hip-hop-soul-pop-madness sound. The track is immediate, fun, and fantastical; full of sweet and gooey melodic strawberry jam. The B-side, "Safer", is a 9-minute epic jam that has long been a live fan favorite.

CD Reviews

Definitely worth it.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Personally, I think the track "Safer" is worth the price of this CD alone. Fortunately, that's what saves it, as the two remixes of "Peacebone" aren't very good, and the original version is on "Strawberry Jam," which you should already own.

The song "Safer" truly is an amazing experience, and while having no choice but to acknowledge it's brilliance, you can't help but agree with their decision to not put it on the album. One of the great things about "Strawberry Jam" is how seamlessly it flows as an album. One of the best albums of this decade so far. But there's no conceivable section of the album that would work with "Safer." It's just as good if not better than some songs on "Strawberry Jam," but it feels as though maybe it's the next evolution of their sound (no two of their albums sound alike), in which case I already can't wait for their next album.
