"Having played in a Colombian band in high school (in Texas) I became very familiar with Colombian music in general and Aniceto's music in particular. This album contains some good sides. 'El Año Viejo' is one of my faves, although it's one we never got to do live. One should bear in mind, though, that this is not Salsa music; it is pure Colombian Vallenato and Sabanero. The disc is chock full of cumbias and charangas and may contain the odd merengue or merequetengue here and there. If you're familiar with "Los Corraleros de Majagual" you will like Aniceto's music. It is basic Colombian music presented in a more or less traditional fashion but always with a lot of energy and excitement. If you're tired of whatever Latin style is being touted these days, Aniceto Molina is sure to restore your faith in Latin music."
