CD Reviews

Lara's the best vocalist EVER!
~Matty | Caz, NY, USA | 03/13/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is just an exceptional album. It's very dancy-pop music. Let me just say that of all the singles released "Touch Me" best describes this album.

1. Love Me Right (Oh Sheila) - Possibly the best intro to any album ever. This song is just incredbily well done and so much fun. If you didn't like this song DO NOT BUY THIS ALBUM because you are going to be hearing these vocals and the sexual vibe through most of this album. This song has been one of my favorites since it was released and I still love it!

2. I Won't Let You Down - This is one of the more "trancy" tracks on the album. Great sound to it but the vocals are kind of akward during the chorus when she sings "I won't let you down. Let you down again." Still, a great track.

3. Do You Know (I Go Crazy) - Just an awesome song. Great beats, the background music, which some of you may recognize from the song "Children," is awesome and her vocals are still standing strong. I especially love how in the last chorus she really steps it up and shows off how powerful her vocals really are.

4. Sunrise - My favorite track on this album. Very upbeat, fun, loud, and just overall PERFECT. It has everything a great dance track needs and Lara's vocals just kick butt! This, for the fourth time, shows that Angel City has conquered the concept of doing remakes!

5. Touch Me (All Night Long) - Very fun track, but in my opinion it's just missing a little something. I can't tell what it is but nevertheless it's still an awesome track. The beat is so catchy and if you've ever seen the video you'll never get the images off all the dancing girls out of your mind!

6. City Lights - One of my favorite songs on this album because of the vocals. She does such an incredible job in this song and the lyrics are just so good. It's a bit quieter, closer to a balled than the rest of the album, but it's one of their strongest songs and if i'm not mistaken this is going to be their next single!

7. Stay - My second favorite song. The ballad. It's one of the sweetest songs I've ever heard and I love her voice in it. It is her best vocal performance on this entire album. Not only is it one of the best songs on the album, but it's one of the best I know.

8. Back In Time - Not one of my favorites... It's one of the not so good songs on the album, but still it's got a nice sound to it... I think the reason I love this album so much is because of her voice and thats why I just can't get myself to say I "hate" any of the songs on this album. This song is catchy, not at first, but after two or three times through I was tapping my foot and bobbing my head.

9. Stars - I wasn't expecting this at all honestly. It has a VERY disco feel to it and I love it. It's such a fun song with the classic vocals. This is definately a great song for dancing. You have to love this one without a doubt!

10. Calling You - Once again, not of my favorites... It's missing something. It has the great vocals and the nice music, but for some reason when I hear it I just don't get the feeling... I get the feeling for their only ballad, but not this one. I'm just not so sure about this song.

11. Confession - Here we go, this is what i've been waiting for. This song has a little more of a sexual feel to it like "Love Me Right." It's got a killer beat even though the chorus isn't too great. it's still very catchy.

12. Love Me Right (Oh Sheila) (Mike DJ Scala Remix) - Wow, this surprised me. I thought I had all of the remixes of this song, but I was wrong and this one even has some lyrics that aren't in the radio edit. It's very nice and as the song progresses it even has a dance-rock feel to it. Very nice remix I must say. One of my favorites by far. It may be 6 and a half minutes long, but it's still awesome!

13. I Won't Let You Down (Dee-Luxe Club Mix) - I've never been fond of the Dee-Luxe mixes of ANY of the Angel City songs, but this one is actually pretty good. It's got a darker feel even though the lyrics aren't exactly somber. It's probably the best Dee-Luxe remix I've heard. Good beat and the music during the chorus is excellent. Unfortunately it's another 6 and a half minute song.

14. Sunrise (Yanou's Sunset Remix) - Now Yanou is a great remixer. I love his remix of Da Buzz's song "Alive" and I love his work on "Heaven" with DJ Sammy & Do and the song "On And On" with Do, but this is a VERY different remix. It's a ballad and I LOVE IT! Her vocals are so good. It's really romantic sounding and, I hate to use this word, but it's beautiful. I love it!

Overall this album gets a 10/10. One of the best albums I own and the enhanced cd is awesome. It's so good with all 4 music videos, all of the lyrics, wallpapers, an awesome interview... It's great. I strongly recommend this album to any fan of their first 4 singles. It will blow you away.

One last thing, I just wanted to say that I was amazed at how quickly this was shipped to me. I signed up for the standard shipping and it was here after only 4 days. AMAZON.COM is awesome!
