Album Description

Andy Garcia's critically acclaimed film The Lost City is a personal and emotional story about a Havana family during the time of the Cuban Revolution. The impact of the historical events on their diverging lives is conveyed through this exceptional soundtrack. The two-disc soundtrack contains classic Cuban tracks from Cachao, Benny More, Chappottin, Omar Sosa, Ruben Gonzalez, and Bola de Nieve, plus Andy Garcia's own very personal score. Excellent history of Cuban music

"What a wonderful soundtrack. There are original tracks plus music from the motion picture. There are re-recordings by the "Lost City Orchestra" of Lecuona -- one of Cuba's premier composers -- and of "La Bella Cubana" (a haunting piece -- though it's not complete here). This soundtrack serves a wonderful "history" of the golden age of Cuban music -- even if you didn't liek the film, you'll love the soundtrack!"

"I had to wait almost a year to get this sensational soundtrack. It added so much to the movie, mixing old Cuban songs together with some new compositions that blended exquisitely with the story behind the movie.

I was born in Cuba, and the music brought back so many memories from my childhood. This album, however, will appeal to anyone that loves Cuban music and is worthy to be added to your music collection.

"This music is Timeless, I literally have been listening to this 'CD' non stop since i received it. It has every song featured on the film, a film which all cubans whom have imigrated to the US and beyond can relate to. I have sat down and played the "cd" during a game of domino with my grandmother and her best friend of 96 yrs in age, they loved it. I was raised in California and too young to remember when we imigrated to the U.S. But, this CD brings to life all the memories of family gatherings and stories my family has shared with me. I strongly encourage everyone to add this "CD" to there collection."
