Synopsis

Album Description

ANDREW JACKSON JIHAD are mammals who perform music. At their core they consist of two members, Sean Bonnette (acoustic guitar) and Ben Gallaty (upright bass), though they often employ other vertebrates in order to enhance their live shows and recordings. Some of their music can be described as "sad songs sung happily," and okay fine, folk-punk. They have shared the stage with bands such as AGAINST ME!, KIND OF LIKE SPITTING, XIU XIU, and THE LAWRENCE ARMS, and have released a split CD with GHOST MICE.

I love Andrew Jackson Jihad. All of their CD's & songs are amazing, funny, and original.

"There are few words to describe things left in the English language. And I don't know any other languages, besides some Spanish. And I do not know if asking where the bathrooms are would really be a complimentary thing to say about this CD.

Put less cleverly, AJJ is a stripped down, crazy, funny band and this CD offers the most fun per second (FPS) of any record you might purchase. Think They Might Be Giants if they cursed. Or, think of a guy furiously strumming a guitar and singing the following lines:

There's a rapist and a Nazi living in our tiny hearts

Child pornographers and cannibals, and politicians too

There's someone in your head waiting to f***ing strangle you

I have not regretted my purchase of this CD. I can only hope they continue to make me laugh and tap my foot as a symbol of enjoying the music."
