CD Reviews

Very Melodic
Keith I. | 06/23/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I really enjoy listening to Amy Holland's voice. She is very talented in the way she can make the listener feel so moved through her soothing voice and her meaningful lyrics. Amy Holland's best known song is Shooting For the Moon, which was the victory song in the 80's movie Teen Wolf. I rate this album 5 stars because I enjoy every single song. This is not like most albums in which a few of the songs are not enjoyable. I highly recommend this CD and I guarantee you will enjoy each and every song."
On Amy Holland's Every Word!
Brian Larrabee | Minneapolis, MN USA | 10/04/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This was one of best undiscovered releases of 1983. Anytime You Want Me should have been a top ten hit and received endless airplay. It's just one of those songs that you can't resist playing over and over again. The production values, musicians, and writers of this album are all superb. The entire album is so well constructed it leaves you feeling both contented yet wanting another album just as perfect."
Mrs. Michael McDonald's Got Some Pipes!
W. Hall | 05/12/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"There is no denying that the ever-so-lovely Mrs. McDonald can sing with the best of the best! Every track on this CD is a gem just loaded with talented musicians and tasty arrangements! It doesn't hurt to have the likes of Michael McDonald, David Pack, and Tom Scott hangin' around the studio to help out either! This Dutchgirl can really sing and if you don't own this CD or Amy's self-titled 1980 release, you are missing out! Also, the final track entitled "Rollin' By" just so happens to have the SWEETEST guitar solo EVER recorded at the very end of the song! Steve Lukather of TOTO rips a bluesy tearful solo that is so DAMN DELICIOUS, I guarantee tears of your own when your ears notify your heart that somethin' sad is goin' on! Amy's sweet voice is a joy throughout the entire CD, but that Lukather solo on "Rollin' By" is worth buying the CD alone! Don't miss this gem! Enjoy! PS-Amy's killer version of "Shake Me, Wake Me" should have been a GINORMOUS hit back in 1983, but nobody knew what the heck "GINORMOUS" meant back then! I LOVE me some Amy Holland and y'all will too! Just give her a listen! She IS the stuff!"
