Synopsis

Product Description
Nearly two years after the release of his EP Black Light , Amit Erez is back with a new album, for the first time fully accompanied by a band. Although a self titled album, Amit Erez , is a teamwork of Amit s band of the recent years, which includes Amit on guitar and vocals, Adam Scheflan and Or Bahir on guitars, David Bareket on bass and Ran Jurgenson on drums. Amit is a well known figure in the Israeli alternative scene. In the last five years, Amit has been gathering a loyal fan base with his captivating shows (both acoustic and electric), while establishing his status as one of the top writers and performers in Israel. Along with his solo work, Amit has been playing guitar in the acclaimed art-rock supergroup Eatliz (which recently released their debut LP Violently Delicate in October 2007 on Anova Records), and was also featured on Noa Babayof s debut album From A Window To A Wall . While the last EP was centered on more acoustic and atmospheric songs, Amit brings a different attitude to the new album. The presence of a rock band accompanying all songs (other than the haunting album closure Winston Girl ) shows a different side in Amit s music. Amit is now a more mature and professional singer/songwriter who grabs his endless musical inspirations, from Psych-rock to Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake, and pours his mixture of it into a solid and unique sound of his own. Other touches bring more varied yet still organic flavors to the album. A strings and brass quartets appear in several songs, and along with the fabulous piano playing of acclaimed Israeli artist Shlomi Shaban ( Appollio ), and the deep and dark voice of Rotem Or (on Highways ), give the album a variety of sounds and dynamics. The opening track Postcard was selected to be on the top 5 songs of the prestigious contest of the Independent Music Awards in the Singer/Songwriter category. The Album single Clever and Strong received fantastic reviews and a massive airplay in Israeli leading radio stations.
