CD Reviews

Magnificent drama!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Ode Amaize breaths more life and soul into art song than anyone else I can think of. This is best illustrated on two songs here by Carl Loewe. "Erl-king" (Goethe) is sung with the perfect touch of melodrama befitting this ghostly story...I was quaking in my shoes by the end! Immediately following is the light and merry "Tom the Rhymer" (Fontane) and I find myself wondering how one person captures the spirit of both songs so easily. A lovely collection all around."
