Synopsis

After an extended leave of absence, All-4-One (best known for their Grammy-winning remake of John Michael Montgomery's country hit "I Swear") has returned with the easy-listening sound that made them famous. Some might find the group's adult contemporary take on R&B a bit too sticky sweet, but fans can't get enough of the quartet's four-part harmonies. And it must be said that nifty songs like "Not Ready 4 Goodbye" and the a cappella "I Am Blessed" do serve to fill the R&B-boy-band gap created by Boyz II Men's extended absence. This time around the group provides an uninspired cover of the Bee Gees chestnut "I Just Wanna Be Your Everything," but their remake of Harry Connick Jr.'s "Between Us" is infused with just the right amount of Cajun boogie-woogie. Overall, A41 is a nice album that should bring the quartet back into the public eye. --Rebecca Levine

CD Reviews

Another great album
04/14/2002
(4 out of 5 stars)

"They're finally back, with another great album. After being gone for a while, All 4 One still hasn't lost their harmony and smooth R&B sound. The album provides a good mix of their well known love ballads with some more up-tempo songs. There aren't many groups out there who can truly perform a cappella like All 4 One, and "I Am Blessed" is a great example of how it should be done. If you are a fan of All 4 One, this album is a must. After having all these boy bands try to dominate the R&B scene, it is good to have All 4 One back, who along with Boyz II Men brought R&B into the public eye and made it possible for these boy bands to do what they do. The only reason I am not giving this album 5 stars is because any album they come out with has the tough challenge of living up to their first album, which is by far their best."
Its nice to know that ORIGINAL boy bands are still around

"Yes they are back just in time too. Just when you thought Boy Bands turned into a complete pop act. All 4 One returns with a solid gem that reminds fans that solid vocals and great production will always make you appriciate good music. In a time when boy bands are judged first by good looks and corny dance moves, These boys return with inner soul, heart wrenching lyrics and Delious has a talent from God. A solid album for anyone who appriciates good music all 4 have officially been labeled musicians by me and thats tough to do... I hope they get the promotion"
NICE GUYS
