The band ALKALOID is formed by five musicians of the metal genre - all best-known for their contribution to bands like Obscura, Spawn of Possession, Aborted, Dark Fortress, Necrophagist, God Dethroned, Blotted Science and Noneuclid - who want to realize their extensive musical vision now. ALKALOID goes beyond any limit that metal music sub-genres might have these days to create the world's most extreme prog metal. They create a field of tension through the oscillation between (seemingly) contrary musical poles. The combination of mutually exclusive styles brings a music into being that on the one hand shows the roots of its musicians in death metal and on the other hand their broader view of music that goes further than blast beats and growls.
