Synopsis

Product Description
The release of Alex Nackman's, A BOY WHO THOUGHT HE KNEW, is culmination of nearly 9 months of studio work with produer David Shaw (Van Morrison/Jerry Garcia/Etta James) and Alex's band. However, the release is also part of the continuation of nearly 5 years writing, touring, promoting, and recording. Armed with this 12-track LP effort (Alex's 3rd record), Nackman truly shows a level of maturity and confidence that has impressed critics from Los Angeles to London, and attracted the eyes and ears of fans from all over the world. The title itself refers to Alex's thinking that he may have known the right paths to take to achieve success, when in reality the straight path or the common path may not be the right one. As Alex explains, "Perhaps high school to college to med-school may not actually lead one to become a successful physician." Experiencing the ups and all too frequent downs of the music industry has allowed Alex to see a clearer picture as what works and what doesn't. These new songs show a level of growth and insight, in terms of musical writing, that is astounding. In addition, the songs take on real issues that are relatable, yet also very personal. A BOY WHO THOUGHT HE KNEW includes guest performances from drummer Fred Berman (of Amos Lee's band) and former Ray Charles bassist Steve Beskrone.
