CD Reviews

Really Really - This is a GREAT album!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Alex Lloyd's first 2 albums were good - if a little synthetic in places. This latest effort is exceptional. The songs are so well written they make you want to weep, the choruses soar at all the right times and there really isn't a weak song on here. The drum machine has been disposed off and it gives Alex Lloyd a rockier slightly grittier edge which really carries his exceptional song writing talent well.If you like Powderfinger, Pete Murray, Motor Ace etc (and you should!) then you will love Distant Light. Absolutely brilliant."
A handy album

"While the variation in his songs is still apparent and catchy choruses have you tapping your hands and feet it is possible to feel a little, tiny bit dissapointed if you were hoping for him to better his last effort. However that is all a matter of opinion.
What can be guaranteed is that Lloyd's vocals are more impressive than ever and he just has that something special about him that puts him above the others who can be classified in the pop category and not a rock artist like Alex.
The consistancy of quality tracks (as in Watching Angels Mend) is the best feature of this Album with no real standouts. Though 'Chasing the Sun' is a personal favourite, 'Coming Home' will appeal to the wider audience and 'America' is a nice little ditty to finish it off. Put simply, they are all worth a listen deeming this album worth the money you pay for it.
I anticipate Alex Lloyd's next cd."
