Bradford was not just a powerful singer who could go from croon to shout without hesitation but also one of the best songwriters of the Golden Age of Gospel. This album, which contains 29 recordings (including seven unreleased takes) from 1953 to 1958, showcases both sides of his talent. Nice intro to Mr. Bradford.

"Alex Bradford is my favorite Gospel male vocalist (Mahalia Jackson is my favorite Gospel female vocalist). There's just something about this man that's different from all the others in Gospel. I purchased this CD a few years ago, and I still enjoy listening to it. Some of my favorites include "What Folks Say About Me," "This May Be The Last Time," "Lord, Lord, Lord," and the titled track, "Too Close." Great addition to any music collection!"
