CD Reviews

R'n'B At it's best just got better !

"Where Do I start !? What a wicked CD ? Had I not have gone to see the guy live I would have not bought the CD. Alex has been touring the USA and I was fortunate to see a gig in Arizona. The CD is just a vast array of different sounds. Not a CD where every song sounds the same. The Vocals are wicked, The Lyrics are just great - Sometimes when you buy an Album you hope that there are atleast 4 or 5 good tracks - Everyone here in my Opinion is a hit ! I am not a real R 'n' B fan - maybe this is a turning point. Can't wait for the next release Alex - Well Done !"

"I love nothing more than a good solid album that has a bit of variety in it, I've always hated those CD's that seem to be the same all the way through. With this CD you don't get that. Alex has used differing styles and gelled them together to get a sort of R+B gospel thing going on. He has managaed to fuse good, clean and uplifting lyrics without any of the cliches or styles you would expect. Sometimes with music I feel like the lyrics are so insulting to my intelligence that I can't listen to some tracks like all they have to say is, "Shake that booty' or ...the world, I'm a bad ... superstar with a generic video with no imagination.' ......Boring, boring boring. With Alex Boyes' CD I loved the fresh feel to it all, lyrics that made me think, made me feel something, then just some plain fun songs that just made me smile and want to dance! The big thing for me was that I didn't stop moving all the way through the CD! From the true London garage sounds of Turn unto me, to the straight dance tracks like Millenium and Movin' up, I just had my head nodding and my feet tapping, even the slow jams like 'It makes the Angels sigh' had me closing my eyes and moving my head. There is just a differnt stlye here with an incredible voice tht has energy and vitality.Lurve this CD, if I had to pick at something I felt like there could be more to it in places, just things like other backing singers and little things like that, but overall I love it, check it out!"
