CD Reviews

Alex Band is back and we're glad to have him!

"After years of dealing with record company bull Alex is delivering an incredibly solid piece of work that will leave rock/pop lovers wanting more. It has solid hard hitters like We've All Been There, catchy pop tunes like Tonight and Forever Yours, slower but powerful songs like What Is Love. It's got plenty for listeners. I wholeheartedly recommend the purchase of this CD; MP3s are great but you can never get the best out of any release until you get a hard copy."
Thank You Alex!

"First of all I just wanted to say thank you to Alex Band for never giving up on this record. It was a long time coming and what we got was a powerful, heartfelt, make you feel feelings you haven't felt in a long time kind of album. The Calling has meant alot to me ever since I picked up Camino Palmero when I was eleven. I know alot of people said that Camino Palmero was an album that was just meant for the mainstream and it was not given credibility, but I to this day think differently. There were some truly beautiful songs on it and I still listen to it and I still feel it was a gem that people dismissed to easily.

"Two" was a breakthrough in my opinion. It got me through some tough times and I would sing along and I could truly feel the emotion that Alex sang with. I never skip a song when I listen to "Two," and it is still heavy in my rotation. "Two" never got a chance to shine like it should have, because I truly feel that The Calling would have had staying power if the world had just appreciated those two records. It's kind of like how people are willing to stick with Lifehouse and they have been around for awhile and it would have been the same with The Calling I think.

"We've All Been There" is quite accomplishment for Alex Band. He managed to stay familiar enough that people who love The Calling will still love this album, but it is also different enough that it can stand alone as a true Alex Band album and not just 'that singer from The Calling putting out a solo record.'

Thank you Alex Band for this and I hope you truly are given the recognition you richly deserve for being one of the most unique voices and insightful songwriters in rock music for this generation. Some might call it rock for girls but I call it music at it's finest. It makes you feel and I think that is what is most important."
Best Album Since Move Along!!

"I love listening to music. I'm a big Green Day and All-American Rejects fan, so my style is alternative rock. When I heard "Tonight" on the radio, it was different from my usual style, more of pop/rock. Nontheless, I looked up Alex Band and saw he was in The Calling. I had heard "Wherever You Will Go" and liked it, so I decided to get We've All Been There on iTunes because is was very cheap for 15 songs and 2 videos. Now, I love listening to Alex when he comes on in shuffle. Here is a track-by-track rating:

We've All Been There: 8/10

What Is Love: 9/10

Tonight: 10/10

Forever Yours: 10/10

Please: 8/10

Will Not Back Down: 10/10

Euphoria: 10/10

Never Let You Go: 9/10

Only One: 9/10

Leave (Today Is The Day): 9/10

Holding On: 10/10

Without You: 10/10

Love: 8/10

Start Over Again: 9/10

Cruel One: 10/10

We've All Been There, in my opinion, rates up as high as Move Along and American Idiot. So buy it."
