Music As Carpet Samples

"The Alchemist Manifesto is both beautiful and frustrating. The music is a complex lush fusion of many different influences, alternately compelling and intriguing. But each track seems more like a sample than a complete piece. Each one starts to develop only to be stopped just as it seems to be taking form and replaced by the next. As such the album feels like a set of carpet samples for what must be gorgeous Persian carpets. Any one of those carpets would have made a nice ride, but, instead, the stack of samples just feels like a visit to an outlet store."
