Helen Merrill together with Al Haig is something extra. Both artists are sophistecated, cultivated and give their best in this sort of Kern songbook.Of course the music of this composer is one of the best ever. Jerome Kern was a man who knew about music indeed. His tunes are still around and are already classics songs.They are not easy listening as look like at first, and this is something that Al Haig understood very well, showing the complex side of this tunes.As for Hellen, her "they didn't beleive" version is fantastic. Well she always is."
