CD Reviews

A chill smooth groove album
Moni S. | Tucson, AZ | 05/04/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is music for grown folks. Very laid back, smooth grooves that take advantage of Adriana's beautiful vocals. Songs like "Set in Stone" and "In Search of" have that old skool flavor that will take you back. Other notable tracks include "Kismet" a mellow lava lamp groove and "To Know You" another kick back favorite."
Review of Singer, NOT the Album

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I can't offer a review of the album because I haven't heard all of the tracks. I have, however, listened to many of the songs by this wonderful artist spanning all four of her albums. If you are considering getting this album or any other, I do not think you will be disappointed!

Adriana Evans style and talent is something lacking in current music. She's reportedly one of the first neo-soul artists, and I'd like to add one of the best. Not only is her voice talent supremely awesome, the music and composition to her songs is fantastic, a far-cry from the simple and mundane studio work we hear today. Some descriptions compare her to Erykah Badu, Minnie Riperton, and many others. To say she's an amalgam of other albeit great artists simply doesn't do her justice. She is a uniqueness unto herself, and I hope she comes back to blow the current music scene out the water.

I dish all this praise quite sincerely; I had not heard of Evans or any of her music until I heard the title track to the "Noah's Arc" LOGO series. I fell in love then, and when I discovered her other tracks I knew I had been missing out on someone great. A few of my personal faves:

Calling Me

Midnight in Bahia

Underneath the Stars

Remember Love/Remember the Love ( the title track that hooked me)

So again I say, if you're already looking for her, and even if you're not, Adriana Evans won't disappoint."
