Where pull in powerful places is concerned, singer Mark Chavez is the half-brother of Korn's Jonathan Davis, but Chavez and his cohorts have the goods to go the distance on their own musical merits. Drummer Kris Kohls, a veteran of Videodrone, bashes with Tommy Lee-like power, while Chavez's wide-ranging vocals are appealing, distinct, and intense. From "Giving In," which tackles alcoholism, to the ironic bitterness of "Close Friends," to the epic closer "Trust," Adema create a soundscape that is modern, heavy, and aggro--without being juvenile. Their heavy rock/"nu" metal sound is just what Drowning Pool, Rob Zombie, Korn, and Staind fans would like. I first heard (the best song on this CD) "GIVING IN" on MTV(is there anything they don't have?) Ithought "This rocks, but I'll probobly forget about them." I did. But they came on the radio with two songs I had never heard. I then bought the album. If you are a fan of any of the bands mentioned above, you would LOVE this CD."
