(4 out of 5 stars)

"One of those Same Ol' Arguments I continue to debate is WHY, some Artists Breakthrough and WHY NOT the Others left behind (Who in many cases have Ton's more Talent). That is why, when I do Discover an Artist, with so Much Talent & is so Original, it's just Like when I first listened to Music, late at Night on my Trusty Clock Radio, way back in the Sixties. Some of the Stuff that you Stumble across is Good...Ad Vanderveen, is Great.

This CD named: "Late Bloomer" is a Collection of Ad's Tunes from 8 of his Records. These were released between 1993-2003. There are 17 Songs, 78 Minutes. Ad is an accomplished Musican from The Netherlands, and he Tours Europe and is Well known on that Continent. Here in the United States, he is almost Unheard of. In 2000 he toured and was featured on CD's with Iain Matthews, that's where I first heard him. As an Introduction to his Music, start here. Most of Ad's best known Songs are here; "Soul Power". "More Than A Song", and "Darkness Under The Sun". Real Fine Acoustic Ballads: "Be Your Own Best Friend" are right along side Rockers as "Water Under The Bridge" where Ad tears it up on Lead Guitar (Like the Best Electric Neil Young). The Songwriting is Mature & Intelligent: "Anchor", "Eyes Never Lie", come from the Pen of an Artist who has been around a While. Ad plays a bunch of Guitar, Harmonica, Piano, Bass Guitar and really Sings Great. There is support from Eliza Gilkyson, Al Kooper and Iain Matthews.

Yeah, there is a World of Music out there, and most of it we shall not ever hear. Here's something 99.9 Per Cent of the Planet has not heard....Be Cool, and Remember it's still Not Too Late To Bloom...Four Stars !!!"
