Drum and Bass with a Smooth Touch

"While not quite on par with the two best drum-n-bass mix discs out last year--those being "Shades of Technology" by DJ DB and "Lost in Drum-n-Bass" by Doc Scott--this two-disc bargain is a nice complement to them. The first CD, a melodic, fun, and sometimes tech-y melange of beats mixed by Timecode, is notable for its smooth mixing and choice roster of cuts. The best are "Brand New Day" by 60 Minute Man, a trippy neuro-funkish slab of pure energy, "Generation" by Technical Itch, and AK1200 & Danny Breaks' "Deep Porn." I couldn't begin to list all the styles and sounds represented here, but suffice it to say, with the bonus Omni Trio megamix disc by Aquasky (also featuring cool CD-ROM stuff) it is a steal at this price. Wakey-wakey!"
