Led Zepplin is usually credited with being the first big hard rock act but Steppenwolf and John Kay should actually hold that distinction. Very good songs which don't get much airplay and are not known by todays younger audience. CD ReviewsNot all hits Michael Patrick Boyd | Waukesha, WI | 04/05/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "16 Greatest Hits is fifty-seven minutes and forty-seven seconds and was released in 1973. 16 Greatest Hits reached #152 on the U.S. Billboard 200 Album charts and went Gold. These are Steppenwolf most heard of songs. Only two of them do you hear on the radio and you would have to go to a classic rock radio station and request the other fourteen songs. Unfortunately the group never had a number one hit. This was the first group to do hard rock, though mild by today's standards. Still this is a great cassette. I am giving 16 Greatest Hits by Steppenwolf an AAAA++++.
